Children's Day.

Everyone knows Chachaji.He was the first Prime Minister of India , well known for his love towards children.A gandhi cap and a rose oh his shirt ,he is placed in the heart of every Indian.

  He was born on november 14 th 1886 as the son of motilal nehru and Swroop Rani,educated in India and later went England for higher studies.His father was a rich barrister and a popular leader of freedom fightersHe wanted his son to become an advocate.After Jawaharlal returned to India,he saw the condition of India and came into forefront of freedom struggle.

  In 1919 , he met Gandhiji, this was the begining of an everlasting friendship and collaboration.He married Kamala Kaul who was also a fill time freedom fighter.Their daughter Priyadarshini(later named Indira Gandhi) became the first woman prime minister,she became famous for her brave movements including the operation Blue Star which led to her assasination.

  Jawaharlal was prisoned many number of times.From jail, he sent many letters to his daughter Indira to teach her about the world.This letter collection was later published in the name, "The Glimpses Of World History".This book was published in many languages all over the world.He had a strong heart and even after hearing about the death of his wife, he continued the struggle.His character was straight forward.Even after becoming the PM he never misused the state treasury and lived a common man's life.

  After a lot of struggle, India attained freedom and undoubtedly Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru became the first PM of India.When he heard of the assassination off Bapuji, he was thunderstruck and said, "The lamp of India is gone and we are trapped in complete darkness."

  He died on 1962 .His great love towards children is ever commemorated.He wished that his birthday should be devoted for the walfare of children and asked to celebrate it as children's day.From then onwards his birthday is celebrated as childrens day.
